Wow! It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 2 1/2 years since I’ve posted anything here! So much has happened over that period of time and to be honest, for most of it I just didn’t feel like writing. I’m not going get into the details of it here. The purpose of this post is to tell you that I decided to start a new blog that deals with a few more topics. This past fall I experienced sudden health issues which culminated in two hospital stays where I ultimately had to have fluid drained from around my heart that was caused by pericarditis. Since then I’ve been working with numerous doctors to try and figure out what has been the cause of this inflammation around my heart. We have a few ideas of what could have caused it but nothing definitive yet. Throughout this whole ordeal I’ve learned a lot about myself and my overall health which inspired me to start a new blog. It felt like I needed a new space to write since what I am going through encompasses so much more than my mental health, although my mental health is obviously still an integral part of everything that is going on. I just felt I needed to start fresh. That’s not to say I won’t return to writing specifically about mental health here, however I wanted to shift my focus. I’m hoping you decide to check out my new project to hear about this latest bump in the road and what I am doing to overcome it, as well as what I’m learning about nutrition, running, mental health, perimenopause, etc. and how it all ties together. My purpose for writing has always been to motivate myself and hold myself accountable, but more importantly to inspire and encourage others who may be struggling as well. Regardless of what any of us are struggling with, we need to remember that there is always hope and that we are not alone. So I hope you take a moment to check out my new project and follow along as I embark on this new adventure.
